Weirding the Mundane

A minimally edited image versus the fully edited reference—will the painting turn out as I envision? Better? Worse? Or simply as it's meant to be? The painting becomes its own creation. Maybe that's why even the most talented photographers still choose to paint. They could rely entirely on photography, but they don't. Just as I could stick to editing my own photos, but I choose to paint—because it offers something deeper, something uniquely personal.
