Pop-Up Artist shop at the indoor Market: 16–21 March
With less than a week to go, I’ll be moving into one of the vacant booths alongside Lisa’s Local Art to run a six-day pop-up artist shop and some live painting.
Opening times:
Monday 16 March: 10am – 1pm
Tuesday 17 – Saturday 21 March: 11am – 3pm
(The market stays open until 5pm.)
Dogs are welcome in the market (except the upstairs café). My Pomsky Ralph may visit occasionally so he isn’t home alone all day. He might say hello or quietly relax depending on how busy things are and how he feels.
In the lead-up to the pop-up I’ve been painting a series of hand-painted bookmarks. Each one is an original artwork in a 2 x 6 inch format, created in quick expressive sessions — usually under two hours, some over . Subjects include wildlife such as lions, jaguars and angler fish, with some pieces which will be featuring UV-reactive details that glow under black light.
Because they’re designed to be used in books( but likely framed instead), I’ll be experimenting with a cold wax medium finish to protect the surface and won’t stick to pages, while keeping the texture and character of the paint.
Alongside the bookmarks I’ll be bringing a range of work including original paintings priced from £25–£700, as well as prints, greeting cards, acrylic pins, UV-printed wooden bookmarks and mugs. T-shirts featuring my artwork are also available via my website, and commissions are open.
If there’s interest during the week I may also run a future workshop focused on expressive mark-making — helping people reconnect with creativity rather than worrying about perfection.
I’ll likely be working on a painting during the pop-up, so if you visit more than once you may see it evolve over the week.
While all the artwork will be available to buy, what I value most from events like this are the conversations and connections that happen around art, with the art selling naturally but not the focus.
I’m looking forward to meeting you, sharing the work, and hopefully helping a few people rediscover their own creativity and be able to calm themselves an artist , along the way.
now what to choose to bring and finish rest of these bookmarks
