Beneath the Surface original painting by Bristol UK Artist Chris Shopland acrylic on 81 x 101.6cm canvas
Beneath the Surface — Original Painting by Bristol Artist Chris Shopland
Acrylic on Canvas | 81 x 101.6 cm
The inner world is a dark, chaotic, and often hidden place — where emotions shipwreck and thoughts collide beneath the surface. Like diving beneath the waves into the unknown, this piece explores that raw, unspoken space where, much like outer space, no one can hear you scream.
Beneath the Surface was a spontaneous, intense project that seemed to flow naturally. After hours of focused work, it emerged as something beyond what I'm usually known for — a bold addition to my Intense Emotion series.
When I’m sad, I paint joy. When I’m content, I paint powerful, unsettling images. The human experience is vast, and I won’t limit myself. This piece came from listening to the muse
